Foot Self Portrait by Bob"Mom? When did Santa's dad die?"
"Santa Claus's dad?"
"Yeah."
"Why do you think Santa's dad is dead?"
"Well, does Santa have a dad?"
"Um. I'm gonna say, yes?"
"Santa is very old so I thought maybe his dad was very dead."
"I don't know how old Santa is or anything about his parents."
"Oh... I am very old now because I am four."
"You are a big boy but you are not very old. You know daddy and I aren't going anywhere, right? You are stuck with us, Buddy."
"Thanks, mom."
I love the way you and le petit Bob talk to each other. x0 N2
ReplyDeleteBob Rosenberg is the citizen of many, many worlds.
ReplyDelete*hysterical* what an amazing kid :)
ReplyDeleteI love that Bob thought Santa's dad was very dead. As opposed to just plain old dead.
ReplyDeleteI have never ever thought about Santa's dad before. I just want to hug him.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify, I want to hug Bob, not Santa's dad.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.

ReplyDeleteThat's a cute story. I've never thought about Santa's parents before... I guess I thought he was an omnipotent being or something. The weird thing is that he's married, elderly, and yet has no children or grandchildren?
ReplyDeleteHow well do we really know this dude who sneaks into our houses late at night? Who is this "Claus" guy and what is he giving our children?!
He knows when you are sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHe knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good...
So be good! For goodness sake!
He seems to be a stalker and I may need a restraining order.
First, congrats on blog of note. Second, congrats on actually having a good blog, I look forward to reading many more of your entries. Third, and most importantly, congrats on living your dream with what seems like an awesome son.
ReplyDeleteMine's still a bit new to the world, and really only says "blllfflaaaa" a lot.
Just wait until he gets to that "why?" stage.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna put that child in a sammich and eat him.
ReplyDeleteAnd? He has the best mum around. Holy smokes, woman...
Excellent writing :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, did anyone of you see Santa in his childhood?
Congratulations on the BON recognition. Love your delightful snippets of life with Bob. Definitely brightened my day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBob? You are more famous than Santa now. At least for me.
ReplyDeleteand my being Jewish should have no bearing on the situation.
