Happy Something

"Mom, this card looks like a card but it's a puzzle, for real. It's for Easter but I colored it for you and I was going to wait until Easter to give it to you but I decided you should have it for your happy birthday. Happy Birthday, Mom. I used four different colored markers."

  1. No doubt this will become your favorite birthday card ever (and it will embarrass Bob when he's 15).

  2. Sometimes I forget he's still so very young, your little Boca-bound grampa.

My heart is melting like candles left lit too long on a birthday cake.

  3. And see?

I knew his card would be something this good.

    I knew it.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday, Lisa.

  4. Happy Birthday one day late! September 13th is also the birthday of my sister Amy and our cat Virgil. Obviously it's one of the best days ever ever.

    1. Thanks, Wendi. I am so thrilled to hear that Virgil is a Virgo. Maybe he'll clean his own catbox!

  6. My late father (also a Bob) didn't have a graduation card on hand when our son graduated from H.S., so he gave him a happy birthday card with birthday crossed out and graduation written in (and a generous check enclosed). My son loved it so much that when his grandfather's 80th birthday rolled around later the same year, my son gave him a graduation card with graduation crossed out and birthday written in. It was my dad's favorite birthday card! The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

  7. Happy Easterbirthday to you. Belated. I couldn't find a belated easterbirthday card, so you have to settle for this lousy comment.
