The Sky's Too Big

I'm taking an online writing class this summer with teachers Robin Rice and Emily McDowell at https://www.bewhoyouare.com/ The writing prompts are pictures and we are free to write whatever we'd like to as inspired by the photo.
As you may know already, Mr. Rosenberg is a musician. Sometimes I write lyrics for him. For today's prompt I wrote these lyrics.
The Sky’s Too Big
First got my freedom in a rush of feathers and gin
Then fell back to a place that tethers me in
Struck out once again with fear and fire water
Fly away to forget I was your only daughter
I wasn’t interested if it wasn’t a sin
Hold me in
If there was no danger or the dark flavor of night
I blacked out the whole day to hide from the light
Kept moving on pulled by an engine of thirst
Hit high branch then cold windshield then grey pavement but first
I wasn’t interested and I lived like a kite
I’m not right
Chorus:
When the sky’s too big
I fly back to the hand that holds me
When the ocean’s rough
I fly back to land that enfolds me
If they make me choose every day
My choice will be just to stay
With you
First you didn’t want to but you set me free to go
Mine’s a rapid heartbeat, yours steady and slow
Had no interest in you, your safety, your nest
I fell south in the valley you stayed out in the west
I beat back the air and its hard undertow
You don’t know
Chorus
When the sky’s too big
I fly back to the hand that holds me
When the ocean’s rough
I fly back to a land that enfolds me
If they make me choose every day
My choice will be just to stay
With you
With you
With you
