Jeff and I sat in the living room. We could hear Bob in his bedroom playing with his action figures.

"I am Darth Vader and you should wear a sweater," Bob said in a low voice.

"But I'm hot," Bob answered himself in a high voice.

"Luke, I am your dad and you need a sweater. Quickly into the pods!" Bob said in his Darth voice.

Jeff and I exchanged looks.

"The Star Wars guys are his dollies," Jeff whispered to me.

"Yep. Just like they were your dollies, " I said.

"They weren't my dollies, I just collected them."

"And acted out the stories?"

"I had dollies."

  1. Sounds like Darth Vader has a little mom/grandma in him too. Did Darth ask Luke if he was wearing clean underwear too?

  2. Awww, Darth had a soft side. Who knew?

(I've vowed never to take the baby monitors out of the boys' rooms. The conversations! Guess it will eventually get a little creepy though.)

  3. I just love the sweater comment.

  4. "GI Joe just puked"

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Best comment.

  5. When our boys were young, we kept the monitors in the room. How they'd chitchat at night, they'd re enact all the Thomas the Train they had watched during the day.

    Sheer heaven.

Enjoyed your post title today. Very cute.

  6. I know we're focusing on the dolly part of the equation. But something tells me Darth's mom may be a little sweater obsessed.

    Just sayin'

  7. And then SMACK, reality hits you right in the head.

  8. I love Bob's Darth Vader/Fred Rodgers combo.
