Research

"MeeMee? Is the writer of Harry Potter a boy?"

"The author is a lady named J.K. Rowling."

"How does she know so much about boys? She must have a lot of boyfriends."

  1. Somewhere in Edinburgh, Jo Rowling might be smiling over this.

  2. Ironically, there is some truth to his thoughts.

from wikipedia: Fearing that the target audience of young boys might not want to read a book written by a woman, her publishers demanded that she use two initials, rather than her full name.

I guess she could have used her real name and followed it up with *but has had a ton of boyfriends.

  5. I really, really wish she would do a prequel to the series focused on Harry's mother. I think girls need a strong role model, and I'm sure she would do a great job of providing one.

  6. I, too, remember reading that the publishers thought the book wouldn't sell if it was seen that it was written by a woman.
