I will always remember Violet like she is in this photo: Sitting on something soft, enjoying pets from the people who love her. We said goodbye to her this morning. She was very weak, her breathing was labored, the light was gone from he eyes. It was her time.
Bob was with me this morning at the vet. As we left, I was crying.
"Mom, I'm sad too. I have an idea. I will save up my allowance and buy a new cat and you can name her Violet."
And then I cried more, this time from the sweetness.
Peaceful travels, Violet June Rosenberg.

I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. Letting them go when it's time is the most difficult decision we have and the kindest act we can offer.

ReplyDeleteOh Lisa, I'm so sorry. We recently lost our sweet kitty to FIP, so I totally know how you are feeling. I wish I was able to write as concisely and beautifully as you do! So much feeling packed into such few sentences. Hugs to you and Bob. I hope Violet and my Gracie find each other in kitty heaven.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry Lisa.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. Even if it's the right time, it's still so hard to lose our furry family members. Been there--my post about losing my Gypsy is still linked to her photo in my sidebar, and I may never take it down.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. Animals are such a big part of our lives, but it's so hard because we nearly always outlive them. I'm so glad she blessed you with her warm, happy presence and wish you peace as you learn to live without her.
ReplyDeleteLove to you. I have been there, too. Molly
ReplyDeleteI am sure she had a happy 9.
ReplyDeleteFarewell to your sweet kitty. So hard losing a pet. Big hugs to you all.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry babe, it's a terrible thing to lose a pet. Our Balboa was with me before my son and he is getting oder, its just not fair.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear of your loss. The death of a pet is so hard and heart-breaking. They really do take a piece of us with them when they go.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry.
