BFFs

As Jeff drove Bob's friend Brandon home from a play date, he listened to the conversation coming from the backseat.

"Brandon? You're my best friend, Brandon."

"You're my best friend too, Bob."

"I like you as much as Star Wars."

"Thanks Bob. You always tell funny jokes."

"I wouldn't ever want to hurt your feelings, Brandon."

"Bob, you should lean back in your booster seat because remember? I'm not a hugger."

"Oh yeah. Sorry, Brandon."

  1. Sometimes I wish I had children so I could hear their cool conversations - but somehow I don't think they would live up to Bob and his mates.

  5. Isn't it funny how whether 6, 46, or 60, these conversations among men never seem to change much? Just substitute a sports reference for a Star Wars one, and *bing!*

  9. LOL How do I not remember talking this way to my friends when I was little? It's so nice you write it all down so Bob will always remember. :)

  12. Oh. If we could all just communicate with each other like this. Simple. Direct. Honest. We could avoid a lot of crapola that way, I believe.
And p.s. tell Bob that I am a TOTAL hugger.

  13. If I didn't also have a four year old with a quick wit, I'd say this was a fake post. Last night, though, after tucking my kid into bed, he told me, "You know I'm not paying you for this, right?"

  14. BWA HAHAHA. I'm totally with whoever said there would be an awkward silence after this exchange.
