Feasts


"So, Mom? Thanksgiving is the day after this day?"

"It's on Thursday."

"I like feasts, Mom."

"Me too."

"Mom? I like feasts so much maybe even more than you."

"What's your favorite part?"

"I like the pumpkin pie part."

"I like the part where we get to be together with our family and friends."

"Yeah, but also the pumpkin pie part."

"Yes."

"But, Mom? I don't like sparkly liquids."

"Got it."

    I am sure I didn't like them either at one point, but something changed. Not I like sparkly liquids. a lot.

    Happy Thanksgiving Bob! Lots of pie is appreciated around these parts, as well. And as long as my grandmother is alive, which may well be forever, there will be no sparkly liquids at our feasts.
