Smacksy Sunday Link: Betty, Please
This is the latest reason that I love YouTube. I have found my favorite scene from my favorite sitcom, circa 1980. Please note that my undying love for this scene resulted in my high school nickname "Betty Please." (At least I hope that's why they called me that.) I went on to work in many restaurants in my waitressing career and there were many shifts that went down just like this.
Enjoy.

I loved L&S, but I don't remember this episode. Was it after they moved to California, because I kind of stopped watching when they left the Cheese State.
ReplyDeleteStill in Milwaukee. Lenny inherits a cafe from his Uncle called, "Lazlo's Place." He re-opens it with the name, "Dead Lazlo's Place" and the ladies try to run it. Hilarity ensues. Mr. Defazzio saves the day in the end...
ReplyDeleteOh, man - I loved that show!
ReplyDelete"We're gonna do it..."
Off to sew a giant "A" on my bathrobe now...

And now we know how close those actresses were to getting seriously injured on each and every episode.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. I think I'm half Penny Marshall.

Man, did I need this today. You are my knight in a shining poodle skirt.
ReplyDeletei didn't realize how much I missed Laverne & Shirley.
ReplyDeleteat our school, when we have the kids rest their heads on their mats, i was instructed to hum a lullabye to them. for some reason, the L&S theme song is what i came up with and has stuck. and what's more, the kids now hum along with me. next i plan on teaching them the opening up-n-down dance moves.
ReplyDeletei love it. and the thought of dera humming it to her waldorf kids cracks me up. i used to watch L&S every day after school in 6th grade. there is a lot more to that story but it is probably more appropriate on my own blog.
ReplyDeleteShlemeil. shlamazal!
ReplyDeleteJesus, Dera. Just when I thought I couldn't possibly love you more.
