Smacksy Sunday Link: Mother's Day

My first day on the job

Perhaps you can tell from the look on my face in this photo, but the day Bob was born was one of the happiest days of my life. Perhaps the pain killers were helping too, but most of it was the real happy deal. Still is.

Bob's godmother, Jennifer sent me this sweet link. StoryCorps, the producers of the video describe it like this, "Joshua Littman, a 12-year-old boy with Asperger’s syndrome, interviews his mother, Sarah. Joshua’s unique questions and Sarah’s loving, unguarded answers reveal a beautiful relationship that reminds us of the best—and the most challenging—parts of being a parent." I describe it like this, "It made me cry happy tears."

Happy Mother's Day.

  1. If I cried, I'd have been a puddle after this post.

  2. Oh this is so beautiful, thank you for posting and sharing this, especially on Mothers Day. A few really good true friends you can rely on no matter what really are part of the key to a happy life. When he asks if he met his Mothers expectations my heart just melted.

Happy Mothers Day - I just know you are as proud and happy today as you were the day your son was born

  3. Oh, Lisa: this unexpectedly broke my heart.

I have that little guy. He's the one I don't write about, just one post on his origami, but that's all.

Yeah, he's baptized me by the fire alright, but you know what? I am his best friend.

    This was beautiful.

Yes, these kids make you into a very honest person, b/c there is no B.S. in their communication. They are straight forward, and they ask the same of you.

    Beautiful. So many thank yous.
