Another Great Beauty

While we're on the subject of gorgeous artwork made for me by my supremely talented friends, look at this stunner. My friend Angelika created this lovely painting. (I wish you could see the colors and textures in person.) I see a stormy sea and sky. It reminds me of my hometown. What do you see?

  1. Hello, Lisa. I was caught still by your friend's lovely artwork, and I wanted to email you and thank you for sharing it. Then I decided to thank you for sharing every single day for so many years. I'll try to explain how much your posts mean to me. Several years ago I lost my mom to cancer at age 59. As I was grieving, I read a post from you with this quote: Grief is proof that you love something enough to miss it when it is gone. I think you were writing about losing someone in your life. You put into words so beautifully what I was going through! I make a small poster of it and displayed it in my classroom (I am a high school teacher.) I have pointed many a student to your quote when they are going through a time of loss and it seems more than they can handle. And that is what your writing does for people. It doesn't take away pain or magically cure ills. It give comfort and hope, a good laugh, a hug that says someone out there understands. So, thank you. What you do matters.
