Look, Mom!

I hear, "Look, Mom!"
And, "Watch this, Mom!"
And, "See what I can do, Mom?"
It's not always convenient to look up
To watch
To see what he can do
And then I remember
I read somewhere
That, "Look, Mom!"
Is one of the ways a child says
I love you
And then I'm happy to look up
And watch
And see
And be loved

  2. My grandson motions to me and says, "Come," which means I need to come and watch whatever he is doing. "Sit," he says, pointing to wherever it is he wants me to sit to watch.
    I do. Every time.

  3. I think I will print this out for my fridge, with a line at the bottom that reads "by the very wise Lisa Page Rosenberg."

  8. I tell myself this, when I'm ready to scream from the one hundredth "MOM!"

One day too scarily soon, there will be no MOM! in the background.

    works every time.
