Red Light, Green Light
"Hey, Mom? I noticed that all of the crossing guards in our neighborhood are older people."
"I think you're right."
"Do you have to be really old for that job?"
"No."
"I think that would be a really good job for me, you know with that orange vest and everything."

But first, Bob, you've got to be tall enough for drivers to see you -- even with your spiffy orange vest. :)
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long...
DeleteYou know, not everyone can pull off orange. But Bob totally could.

A.
He's on trend for spring.
DeleteThe perfect career choice for a son you lovingly refer to as "Gramps". :)
ReplyDeleteRight? He knows who his people are.
Deletethe perks of working.
ReplyDeleteAll the power one little hand-held stop sign can give.
DeleteY'know, at the school where I teach, our hallpasses are those same bright orange vests (so teachers can glimpse in an instant who's "legal" in the halls and who's not). Bob would love having a hallpass. :)
ReplyDeleteHe SO would!
DeleteWhew.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for him to answer back, after the "for older people." You know that'd be a really good job for you, mom.
xo
Totally. It was a close call.
DeleteI love everything about every one of these posts. That is all. Oh, and orange is my favorite color so I might look into the whole crossing guard thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you. And? They'd be lucky to have you behind the vest.
