Santa's Dad

Foot Self Portrait by Bob

"Mom? When did Santa's dad die?"

"Santa Claus's dad?"

"Yeah."

"Why do you think Santa's dad is dead?"

"Well, does Santa have a dad?"

"Um. I'm gonna say, yes?"

"Santa is very old so I thought maybe his dad was very dead."

"I don't know how old Santa is or anything about his parents."

"Oh... I am very old now because I am four."

"You are a big boy but you are not very old. You know daddy and I aren't going anywhere, right? You are stuck with us, Buddy."

"Thanks, mom."

  4. I love that Bob thought Santa's dad was very dead. As opposed to just plain old dead.

  5. I have never ever thought about Santa's dad before. I just want to hug him.

  6. Just to clarify, I want to hug Bob, not Santa's dad.
    That is all.

  14. That's a cute story. I've never thought about Santa's parents before... I guess I thought he was an omnipotent being or something. The weird thing is that he's married, elderly, and yet has no children or grandchildren?

How well do we really know this dude who sneaks into our houses late at night? Who is this "Claus" guy and what is he giving our children?!

  15. He knows when you are sleeping.
    He knows when you're awake.
He knows if you've been bad or good...
So be good! For goodness sake!

He seems to be a stalker and I may need a restraining order.

  21. Bob? You are more famous than Santa now. At least for me.

and my being Jewish should have no bearing on the situation.

  22. Three years ago I wouldn't have found the humor in this. Now as the father of a three year old son I am laughing out loud. Makes me think I should talk more about my son than celebrities on my blog
