Star Wars Thanksgiving

It's the time of year where we buy our brussel sprouts on stalks...

And those stalks become light sabers.

I love Thanksgiving.

  1. I remember back in the seventies when we were all going to raise perfectly pacifistic boys and not give them guns or weapons to play with and then they took every other damn toy they had and made guns and weapons with them.
Some things just come with the DNA.

  2. Have you gone to Williams Sonoma? I have an unhealthy onsession with them and they have a selection of Star Wars cookie cutters and such that are pretty neat. I can see Bob going crazy over them if he likes cookies and all.

  3. Is it bad that I have never even heard of brussel sprouts that come on stalks and not in frozen bags?

  6. ok, this story of brussel sprouts just gave me a nice morning of playtime in my head. My first reaction when I saw the brussel sprouts cut off, was noooooo~! That was the Ewoks tree village and you cut off their lil pod houses. Wow. I think I need some playtime with Bob. Anyways, I've been looking online at pictures of the Ewoks tree village and remembering how much I loved that part of the movie.

  7. Love. LOVE!!

I actually put an entire stalk in a very tall glass vase, and filled it to the brim with water as a centrepiece. It was gorgeous, and inexpensive - and try it with bubbly water. Really... a show-stopper. Dude. Do it.

And that you can make a light saber with it afterwards? Total WIN!
