I Know

photo from here

"I don't want to do swim class today, Mom."

"Why not?"

"The kick-board part is too hard."

"Well the way to make that easier is to practice."

"No it isn't."

"Yeah, it really is."

"Mom? You don't know everything."

"I know a lot."

"You don't know all the Star Wars guys. You don't know Ponda Baba or Joruus C'baoth or..."

"Point taken. But you're going to swim class."

"Oh, man."

  1. Score one for Mom. She knows enough to stick to her guns. x0 N2

  2. I hope you are ready for the teenage years, Lisa. The force is strong in that one.

  3. Most of us wait 12 years to be told that we don't know everything. Better to get it out of the way early. Think of how many years I spent deluding myself that I jnew anything at all, nefore my daughter set me straight.

  4. Again, I am slapping my knee. Oh, the subtle defiance and anger at how your answers are NOT the ones he wants to hear.

But, you are SO right...practice. Bob, your mom is right.

Listen To Your Mother (hmmmm....where have I heard that?)

  5. Oh gosh. He already knows more than you do. You're in trouble.

  6. There are more things in heaven and earth, Bob Rosenberg, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

    Listen to your Momma.

  7. Bob's becoming a little rebelious lately. LoL

  8. Actually mom, I believe you do know everything

  9. I hate to break it to you, Bob but you're mom really does know a lot.

  10. Bob knows Joruus C'baoth? Wow. I am impressed.

  11. My way to make it easier is flippers, but I always take the easy way out. (Note to Bob: your mom's got a much better idea. My way never helped me much when I'm honest with myself.) And to Lisa: I'm STILL hearing about the time I was three and told my mom that "just because you're my mother doesn't mean you're right." she says it lovingly though and swears I wasn't being fresh, just making a point. I think Bob's going to hear a lot of this type of story when he grows up. He produces so much material.
