This Day

"How was school today?"

"I got smacked by Dylan on purpose."

"In the play-yard."

"No, I mean, where on your body?"

"In the arm. It hurt but I didn't cry."

"I'm sorry, baby."

"Mom? This day was a jerk."

  1. "This day was a jerk.". Will be very using that quote, Bob. In fact, I think I like this kisser use of "jerk." . . .

  2. Whoops -- meant to say "this use" -- good ol' spellcheck!

  3. Sort of the child-version of "bitch of a day."
Oh Bob. We all have them.

  4. What a great Bob quote! I'll be referring to it often.

  5. I love that quote - "This day was a jerk." It's a great way to describe those days where nothing seems to want to go right. Hope he doesn't mind if I borrow it once and a while.

  6. Yep, we get those days too. For the grownups and the kid alike. A hug and kiss from mom seems to be good medicine for the latter. And chocolate and wine (and sometimes bacon) for the former.

  7. That's a coincidence. My day was a jerk off.

  8. I don't know why but this just made me cry.
And "this day was a jerk" is going to become part of my daily vernacular. Well, at least on the jerky days. I love your blog.

  9. heehee.

sorry about the awful day, but his response to where.

    So marilyn monroe.

    loved it.

  10. "This day was a jerk." totally stealing that.
