"... but Mom, I don't really feel like going out for dinner tonight."
"I am so tired, Honey. I'm just not up to cooking."
"Mom, did you know microwaving is not really cooking?"

I'm also over at Nancy Davis Kho's Midlife Mixtape today talking about a music man who is so close to my heart. I hope you'll check it out.
Dear Bob,
ReplyDeleteWhen you're a grown man and have had a full day, please call your mother and tell her you now understand that some days even microwaving is too much cooking.
Best regards,
Your pal Cheryl
You bet I will keep this. xo
DeleteSpoken just like a man, Bob!
ReplyDeleteTonight it's his turn to do the microwaving.
DeleteOne: Microwaving is sooo cooking sometimes.
ReplyDeleteTwo: Do you actually have the star wars family stickers, because they are awesome!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

1. Thank you! Agreed.
Delete2. Yep. That's our best family portrait yet.

If you ask my kids what the four food group are, they will tell you:
ReplyDelete1. frozen
2. boxed
3. canned
4. handed to you through a window
You have trained them well, Jedi Master.
DeleteI'm sorry, but your son is dead wrong on this one. Microwaving DEFINITELY counts. So does making stovetop mac n cheese, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteSandwiches, too...
And what kind of kid doesn't want to go out to dinner?! Unless "out to dinner" in your house means you're going to some yucky health food restaurant, in which case, I'm with Bob.
Basically, I'm saying that you should be super concerned about your son's grasp on viable dinner options.
Right you are on all counts. He needs to pull himself together.
DeleteOh Bob, you're such a smart kid :) microwave or not, it's always a special delight because it's from your mom made with love :) Thanks for taking time to visit my humble blog Lisa :) God bless!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Roselle! xo
DeleteIf microwaving isn't cooking, I guess I should take "accomplished chef" off my resume.
ReplyDeleteI think we can override him.
DeleteMicrowaving isn't cooking?! Yikes, I'm in trouble then. I use it a lot ;)
ReplyDeleteWe would starve without the microwave.
