Feliz Navidad

"Mom? On my calendar, it says that next week there's something called Virgen de Guadalupe Day. What's that?"

"The Virgen de Guadalupe is the patron saint of Mexico. It's the day they celebrate her, I guess."

"Okay, but what's a virgin?"

"I can not have this conversation on one cup of coffee."

"Okay. You catch up. I'll wait."

  1. Whoa, I did not see that question coming!! I think a glass of wine might help before you answer that! :D

  2. Double woah. I may need a debrief.

  3. Yikes! I definitely didn't see that coming either. BREATHE.

  4. I think I would have said, "You know, the Virgin Mary," and see if that might be enough. :)

  5. Aside from the interesting feminist theology in this article
it says the Greek work used in Luke for 'virgin' specifically means "has not borne a child." Problem solved. Well, delayed.
