Things that hurt when you step on them barefoot, recent findings:

• Sponge Bob themed SIGG water bottle cap

• Playmobil garbage truck driver, "Rick"

• 3” wooden watermelon slice

• Battery operated fire truck toothbrush

• Sesame Street play thermometer, Elmo themed

• Boy’s clip on bow tie, navy blue

• Thomas the Tank Engine Pez dispenser

• Dismantled ladder from remote control fire truck

• Rocks, assorted ("The good ones from by the sprinkler thing.")

• Heavy aluminum 2” Abraham Lincoln figurine

• Legos, all models

• Play-Doh any form, hardened

• Emily and matching coal tender, wooden

• Legos (necessitates second mention)

• Handy Manny motorcycle wrench

• Time with Elmo book, esp. push buttons

• Matchbox cars, all; esp. tow truck

• Luke Skywalker miniature action figure, decapitated

• Plastic replica Spirit of St. Louis 2” in diameter

  2. With six kids (all grown now), I know all about those little things that dash under our feet when we least expect it. And I know, from vast experience, that the smaller the item, the bigger the hurt.
    But I still miss those golden years.

  4. The pieces from the boardgame Sorry - 16 of which are on the floor in my house at any given time, no matter how many times I pick them up and throw them in the trash. I think they're breeding in the closet.

  6. You betcha.....those all hurt....for that matter so does Friskies kitty kibble. Each nugget is at least a hard quarter of an inch and there is usually a whole string of them scattered.But never mind that....your floor is gorgeous!

  8. Definitely legos. They produce their own special pain.

    In my house I have to also include the dogs' chew hooves, kibble, and the knots on the rope toys.

  10. It has been many a moon since I did the "Stepped on a Lego" one footed Lambada. However, I have done the "Why is there a &$*%ing guitar string wedged under my Toenail Watusi", the "Midnight Mic Stand Toestub Mambo" and the "Girl, Why is Your Lipgloss on My Dang Bathroom Floor Lindy".

  11. All the pieces of Thomas and Friends Winter bloody Wonderland set, especially the little grey wossname you stick at the end of the track so the train doesn't fall off.
    Dreidles of all sizes.

    Also, from ancient history: parts of dismanteled watches, radios, phones etc. that my brother, now a 32 year old ENGINEER used to spread on his bedroom carpet.

  13. No, you are not the only one who thinks it's funny that Bob has an aluminum 2" Abe Lincoln.

    In this house we're more likely to step on a bead, a barrette, a Barbie shoe, a tiny plastic ice cube tray from their dollhouse, or an acorn. I am also likely to sweep up whatever it is I just stepped on and throw away without conscience.
