Coffee Alias

"... so that's a grande soy latte? And your name?"

"Page."

"Thanks, Page. Here's your change."

"Mom, your name's not Page."

"Yes it is."

"Your name's Lisa."

"My Starbuck's name is Page."

"Can I have a Starbuck's name?"

"Sure."

"I'm going to be Ozzy Osbourne from Black Sabbath."

"Ozzy's a good name."

"No, not just 'Ozzy.' It's Ozzy Osbourne from Black Sabbath."

  1. I go to Starbucks so infrequently that I still get confused by the sizes, take too long looking at the menu, and, yes, use my real name.

  2. Ah, the problem of being blessed/cursed with the single most popular girls' name of the decade in which you were born!

  3. My friend always did the same thing for starbucks/takeout places... she had a difficult Indian name so she always used Mercedes as her call-name.

  4. We used to sign wedding guest books as Bill and Hillary Clinton. And when our youngest has to put her name on the bag at the sandwich joint, she always writes Katniss Everdeen.

  5. Hahahaha. I think I need a Starbucks name. I tend to just use mine.

  6. I knew a girl in K-8 who had just the single last name of Page...first name, Lisa. She looked like you. She didn't drink coffee, though.

    Gm.

    1. Indeed. Now it's hard to find her without a cup of joe in her hand. xo

  7. That's even better than you singing "Vehicle."

  8. It's amazing how often I can tell them my name is Jen, yet they continue to write "Jem" on the cup. Isn't Jen more common then Jem? ;)

Beautiful picture of you, by the way!

    1. Thanks! Yeah - When I say "Page" they still sometimes hear "Peach." xo

  9. I always give my real name... and then they call out "Jazz Man". Is it really that HARD to say "Jasmine" properly? Sheesh Arkansas.

  13. I give my real name, but they sometimes ask, "Is that with a C or a K?" I mean, seriously. Does it really matter? Just give me my chai! I guess I'll give this alias idea some thought.

  14. Swung through Starbucks with a friend who needed a pick-me-up and I noticed her real name was written on her cup when we walked out.

"Um, you give your REAL NAME?" I asked incredulously.

She looked at me like I'm crazy.

The problem is I use too many other names, so they may be calling out for "Rachel, Rachel, Rachel," and I forgot that's who I am.

I need more loyalty to one Starbucks name.

  15. Hmmm, never thought of that....they never get mine right anyways (Carolynn) it's always Caroline, Carol, Lynn, Carolyne, or Carolyn (that one I get...2 n's is unique...it's a family thing though)
