Furniture
"Hey, remember the 'naughty chair,' Mom?"
"Barely."
"I remember it."
"Really? We tried that once when you were two, Bob."
"Why didn't we do it anymore after that one time?"
"Because it's supposed to be like a time out but you liked it and that defeated the purpose."
"We don't do time outs either, remember?"
"Yes, I do. Same reason."
"It's still a fun chair."
"Exactly."

So what do you do know? Taze him? (I'm always looking for ideas.....)
ReplyDeleteHe's very adaptable, that Bob...
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask the same thing as Gradydoctor.
ReplyDeleteWe stop what we're doing and have "a talk." Or suggesting that I will take away a show or a treat. The talk usually works. What can I say? The guy likes to process.
ReplyDeleteI laughed.
ReplyDeletei'm a preschool teacher and this happens all the time. Me: "I'm going to need you to sit criss-cross applesauce in the circle like the rest of your friends." Child: "I want to go to the think spot."
ReplyDeleteKids!!!
ReplyDeleteThe 'Time Out Chair'! Yes my youngest daughter would sit but bounce it to move it from it's place in her room. Totally did nothing but either frustrated me or made me laugh. I will forever hear that sound of the chair on the hardwood floors and her yelling that she 'would not do a time out'!
ReplyDeleteI learn so much from you and Bob. lol
ReplyDeleteha ha ha ha... i agree bob. i've always like time outs... and chairs too....
ReplyDeleteThat Bob really is a reflective soul, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteAlso, that chair? Flying up in the air? EXACT same as our kitchen set (Ikea.) My son saw the picture, so if I wake up tomorrow and our furniture is hanging in the hydro lines outside, we're eating at YOUR place.
Ha! I'm always amazed by the things we've tried ONCE that my kids remember FOREVER.
ReplyDeleteOkay - that totally made me snort out loud. Glad to have found you and Bob.
