Soccer Camp Day 2

Yesterday I stopped putting off the inevitable, embraced the next parental rite of passage, and bought a soccer mom chair. I did not realize that my ten bucks had purchased the fancy style with the foot rest and head pillow Velcro brick. Awesome. Once I got over my self consciousness, I realized that the soccer mom chair is delightfully comfortable. My travel coffee mug fits neatly into the coffee holder. Can a visor and fanny pack be far behind?

I got a chair for Jeff too. I'm not going down alone.

  1. The mom chair is a more difficult purchase than the minivan. My oldest is 14 and I am a holdout. Needless to say, my rearend is numb and looks like a lumpy pancake from alternately sitting on bleachers and the ground. Embrace the chair.

  2. It's like a home-away-from-home and thus, you need all the comfort you can get. Wait until you buy one of those little fans you can clip on to the arm rest. Then you'll know for sure you've entered territory from which you will never return.

  3. I prefer to call those camping chairs. Makes you seem much more tough than soccer-mom-ish.

  4. I prefer to think of those as camping outside your boss' trailer on a film set, which makes it pretty cool really. In fact I have one. Just like yours. And, it's red.

  6. Yep, that is definitely a camping chair... mine is red too!

  7. Welcome to the dark side.

Our chairs were scored by my husband for mere pennies at Dick's Sporting Goods. I cringe every time I sit in one, with DICK'S emblazoned across the back. We're the classy ones, sitting all by ourselves.

  8. I'm new to your blog via Ms Moon. Garish as this chair may be, it serves it's purpose and therefore is to be applauded, and all for $10.00. Extraordinary. My next question of course, will it last?

  9. Keep your eyes peeled for the Chairbrella. Avoid the hat-hair caused by visor and enjoy the tropical feel of being under your very own umbrella while reclining and watching short-shanks shank stickered soccer balls. (say 5x fast, go on!)

  10. There is nothing wrong with a good chair. Not a darn thing.
