Smacksy Sunday Links

My in-real-life friend Marija writes a delightful blog called My Mom's a Nerd. This week in addition to being a wife and a mom and an actor and a blog writer and a photographer, she unleashed a new video on a grateful nation. Marija produced, directed and was a back up dancer in a fabulous music video send up of Lady Gaga called My Muffintop. It is a project filled with genius. You will vote for it on Funny or Die. You will go back and watch it a few more times to memorize the words. The song will get stuck in your head and you will find yourself creating your own dance moves while singing the song in your kitchen. Just me? No, I didn't think so.

Type in your birthday and this site will give you the details of your past life. Apparently I was a teacher, mathematician and actress in long ago Australia. (Why not?) Who were you?

Since falling in love with the grandma (and her outfit) at a wedding last weekend, I was thrilled to find this site. Gorgeous and inspirational gals.

Happy Sunday, friends.

  1. As a male in Northern China, I built bridges, roads, and docks. I also inspired changes in many spheres, most notably housekeeping. Yep, I could have had it all.

Thanks for the video link. She rocks her muffintop like no one's business.

  2. Apparently, in my last incarnation, I was a woman in Portugal with a muffin top.

  3. I was a female jeweler or watch maker. It also said I loved change, maybe I got over that in the past life since that is not true of today!

I have to wait to get on a different computer to see Muffin Top, but the description alone is enough to get me smiling!

  4. I enjoy the sunday link ups. Thank you. Can't wait to see.

  5. Oh, I just did the past life thing and THAT WAS WEIRD.

It said I was from Latin America (which I am now) and a poet (which I do write now).

  6. I was a female from Central England in the 1600's. I loved art and was a geologist-or a teacher-or a mathematician.

Now I have Muffin Top stuck in my head.

  7. I was a female farmer/weaver/tailor and SPY in Siberia in 1425. Sounds about right. Thanks for the Muffintop shout out. I've got a lumpy body...

  8. Marija's video is now making the rounds on FB. I shared it and my cousin's husband who has a gazillion friends picked it up and ran with it. She's going to be more famous than LG by midnight! Rock on Marija!

  9. Marija is one of the most self confident women I've come across. I'm just thinking of my abs of steel.

Poor Marija. She will loathe me for my tone.

  10. I'm thinking Advanced Style may change my life immediately. Thank-you!

  11. I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Tibet around the year 425. Your profession was that of a seaman, cook or carpenter.
I was a dude from Tibet who was either a seamen (hehehe... she said semen"), cook or carpenter. Cool, right? I also had a Bohemian personality, mysterious, highly gifted, capable to understand ancient books. With a magician's abilities... (all good so far, but then... uh oh, Bob's not going to like this next part) you could have been a servant of dark forces.

Can we keep that Dark Side stuff from Bob? Because if I ever meet him, I don't want him to get the wrong idea.
